STS-2 Lands at EAFB.
This view of the Space Shuttle Columbia was made prior to landing at Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB)
from a nearby chase T-38 jet aircraft. Joe Engle and Richard Truly guide the vehicle toward a
powerless but smooth landing on the desert area of EAFB. Mission specialist Kathryn Sullivan was
seated in the rear station of the nearby jet to expose a series of approach and landing frames.
